My mission is to enable healing and reclamation of the human spirit through discovery and compassion!
I have a BA in Psychology and an Early Childhood Education Diploma and I am presently studying for my Masters degree in Counselling. I am also a Certified Kripalu Bodyworker (Masseuse) from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and a registered Reiki Practitioner with the Canadian Reiki Association. I am a Sandplay Therapy Trainee with the Canadian Association for Sandplay Therapy (CAST), which is a member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST), the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT). I have trained for over four years in personal process and theoretical training through workshops in conference rooms at Ryerson University. I am in supervised practice with CAST in terms of consulting with supervisors about my cases and completing the remainder of my certification requirements which must meet the standards of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy. I am also a general member of the Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy (CACPT).
In terms of experience, I have had over 20 years experience working with children in different Early Childhood Education settings. I have worked with children and adults of special needs including autistic children. I began using Kripalu Bodywork in 1999, practicing Reiki in 2007 and practicing Sandplay Therapy in 2009.
On a personal level I have been on a long path of inner healing and personal growth. I have taken many workshops including Shamanic teachings, dealing with Separation and Divorce, moving on to find a higher purpose and the Ishyas’s Ascension Meditation techniques. I have completed the 1st year of the Shamanic Coaching Program with the Institute of Shamanic Medicine. The most pivotal time in my life was the deep 7 year inner journey I took to heal and reclaim lost parts of myself with a very wise Aboriginal Counsellor named Eutonnah Olsen-Dunn. During that journey of love and beauty I went on many amazing travels to my “sacred place” of inner knowing and learned much about shamanic dream work, imagery and personal reclamation. What I learned most besides the importance of love, was always to go inside first to seek answers. Going inside, calming the mind and surrendering in trust to a higher power is what helps me most in my work and in life.
